sojournkids at homeThis week’s SojournKids Bible lesson was “Abraham and God's Promise” (Genesis 12-13). Use the questions below to review it with your kids. You can also review the weekly North Star Catechism (below).

READ Genesis 12:1-9 or Story 8 in the Gospel Story Bible

ASK: Have you ever moved into a new house?  What do we have to do to move?

ASK: Why is moving both exciting and sad?  It is exciting because of all the new things you will see and do.  It is sad because of all the friends and family you will have to leave behind.

ASK: Do you think it was exciting and sad when Abraham moved? God made Abraham an exciting promise that he would bless him, but it was also sad because he had to leave his family and home.

Check out the daily devotionals that correspond with this week’s lesson in Long Story Short by Marty Machowski, week 8.  This week’s North Star catechism question is…

18.  How should we love God?  We love God by obeying and serving only Him.

Matthew 22:37  Jesus replied, "Love the Lord you God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind."
