God Heals Israel with a Bronze Snake (November 22nd)

Josh RobertsComment

This week’s SojournKids Bible lesson was “God Heals Israel with a Bronze Snake” (Numbers 24:4-9). Use the questions below to review it with your kids. You can also review the weekly North Star Catechism (below) and monthly SWORD Bible Memory (back).

READ: Numbers 24:4-9 or Story 42 in the Gospel Story Bible

MAIN POINT: We must look up to Jesus to be saved.

ASK: How did the Israelites disobey God in this story? They complained against God and God’s chosen leader, Moses.

ASK: What was the consequence of their actions? God disciplined them by sending poisonous snakes to bite them. This caused many of the Israelites to die.

ASK: How did God show mercy? God delivered the Israelites by providing healing for those who looked up to the bronze snake statute.

Check out the daily devotionals that correspond with this week’s lesson in Long Story Short by Marty Machowski, week 42.  This week’s North Star catechism question is…

If no one can obey God’s law, why did he give it? God gave us the law to show us his goodness, to show us our sin, and to show us we need Jesus.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
