Moses Disobeys God (November 15th)

Josh RobertsComment

This week’s SojournKids Bible lesson was “Moses Disobeys God” (Numbers 20:2-13). Use the questions below to review it with your kids. You can also review the weekly North Star Catechism (below) and monthly SWORD Bible Memory (back).

READ: Numbers 20:2-13 or Story 41 in the Gospel Story Bible

MAIN POINT: God demands perfect obedience

ASK: How did Moses disobey God? Moses disobeyed God by striking the rock twice with his staff instead of speaking to it.

ASK: What was the consequence for his disobedience? God would not allow Moses to go into the Promised Land.

ASK: How did God show mercy? God didn’t let Moses disobedience stand in the way of giving the needed water to Israel.

Check out the daily devotionals that correspond with this week’s lesson in Long Story Short by Marty Machowski, week 41.  This week’s North Star catechism question is…

If no one can obey God’s law, why did he give it? God gave us the law to show us his goodness, to show us our sin, and to show us we need Jesus.

Exodus 20:12 Honor your father and your mother; so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving to you.
