God Protects Baby Moses (August 9th)

For ParentsJosh RobertsComment

This week’s SojournKids Bible lesson was “God Protects Baby Moses” (Exodus 1:1-2:10). Use the questions below to review it with your kids. You can also review the weekly North Star Catechism (below) and monthly SWORD Bible Memory (back).

READ: Exodus 1:1-2:10 or Story 27 in the Gospel Story Bible

ASK: What is this story about? The story is about how Moses’ mother and sister hid him in a basket and sent him down the river to keep him safe from the Egyptians.

ASK: Why did Pharaoh want to kill the Israelite boys? The Israelites multiplied. Pharaoh feared the boys would grow up to fight against Egypt.

ASK: Who found Moses? What did she do with him? Pharaoh’s daughter. She raised him as her own son.

Check out the daily devotionals that correspond with this week’s lesson in Long Story Short by Marty Machowski, week 27.  This week’s North Star catechism question is…

What kind of death did Jesus die? Jesus suffered and died on the cross, but, after three days, he rose again.

Mark 8:31 He then began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things… and that he must be killed and after three days rise again.
