God Parts the Red Sea (September 13th)

Josh RobertsComment

This week’s SojournKids Bible lesson was “God Parts the Red Sea” (Exodus 14). Use the questions below to review it with your kids. You can also review the weekly North Star Catechism (below) and monthly SWORD Bible Memory (back).

READ: Exodus 14 or Story 32 in the Gospel Story Bible

MAIN POINT: God provides a way of escape.

ASK: Why did Pharaoh come after the Israelites? God hardened Pharaoh’s heart. He did not want to lose his slaves.

ASK: What do you think it would have been like to walk through the Red Sea?

ASK: Who won the battle against Egypt? God won the battle.

Check out the daily devotionals that correspond with this week’s lesson in Long Story Short by Marty Machowski, week 32.  This week’s North Star catechism question is…

How does God command us to live in his kingdom? We are commanded to love God and love our neighbor.

Matthew 27:37 Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”
