Triumphal Entry (Luke 19:28-40 & John 12:12-19)

Josh RobertsComment

This week’s SojournKids Bible lesson was “Triumphal Entry” (Luke 19:28-40 & John 12:12-19). Use the questions below to review it with your kids. You can also review the weekly North Star Catechism (below) and monthly SWORD Bible Memory (back).

READ: John 12:12-19 or Story 108 in the Gospel Story Bible

MAIN POINT: Jesus is our Savior King!

ASK: Why did the crowd come to see Jesus? They wanted to see the person who had raised Lazarus from the dead. And they wanted to see Lazarus. It must have been exciting to talk with Lazarus and ask him what it felt like to be raised from the dead.

ASK: Why did the people call Jesus a king? God had promised through his prophets that a deliver would come to rescue his people and that there would always be a king on the throne. They believed Jesus was the one the prophets were talking about.

Check out the daily devotionals that correspond with this week’s lesson in Old Story New by Marty Machowski, pages 160-164.  This week’s North Star catechism question is…

43. What kind of death did Jesus die? Jesus suffered and died on the cross, but, after three days, he rose again!

Psalm 127:3 Sons are a heritage from the Lord, children a reward from Him.
