Sojourn Kids Music Liturgy for Spring 2018

Jared KennedyComment

Here is the music we used with the kids at Sojourn from April 22 until May 27. Enjoy!

Leader 1 & 2: Hi, I'm Mr./Ms. (First name)!

Leader 1: The Bible tells us that God made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and that he made US! He made you and me so that we might know him, love him, and praise him. Let’s sing praise to God together today!

Song 1: You Made Everything (Austin Stone Kids Worship)

Leader 2: Our memory verse this month is 2 Corinthians 5:17! Can you repeat it after me?

“If anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!”  2 Corinthians 5:17

Leader 1: Let’s sing this next song to praise Jesus, the One who saves us and makes us new. He is the only one who can wash away our sin and cleanse us – our mighty, mighty Savior!

Song 2: Mighty, Mighty Savior (Sovereign Grace Kids)

Leader 2: This month we will be learning about how God changes us through his Spirit to help us be more like Jesus. God is so amazing. He frees us from our bondage to sin and helps us live in a way that pleases him. When you think about that, does it make you want to shout hallelujah?! Let’s sing “When I Think About the Lord” to praise God what He’s done for us.

Leader 1: As we sing the next song together, you can bring your offering to God to the front of the room!

Song 3: When I Think About the Lord (Shane & Shane)

Leader 1: Hey, who can tell me what time it is? Kids: Catechism time!

Play Catechism riff like “Tequila”: G-F-G-F x3, G-F-G “Catechism!”

Leader 2: Let’s review our catechism question for the week. Please repeat after me.

Q: Who changes us? A: The Holy Spirit changes us to be like Jesus for God’s glory.

Leader 2: Let’s pray! Bow your heads and fold your hands and close your eyes as we talk to God!

Father, we thank you for sending Jesus to earth to save us. We praise you that when we are in Christ, we are new creations. Thank you for changing us! Please help us to live in a way that shows the world what you’ve done in our lives. Help us to be self-controlled, loving, joyful, and patient. Please open our minds to understand your word today. In Jesus name we pray, Amen.

Instruct all kids to sit down, then dismiss by one age group at a time: Preschool first then Kindergarten. Finally, instruct Elementary to move up for the assembly lesson.
